How God Created Heaven and Earth

Text

Now that God deemed that the time had come for our salvation and that he should reveal himself, in accordance with what Goodness and his own virtue required, he created heaven and earth and that which both adorn. (103-109, Translation by Halford, 1984, pp. 238-239)

Analysis

"The Creator is represented as a man in a brown robe with long, fair hair and beard, and crossed nimbus. He is blessing the world which is represented in a circle by water and land with trees and houses on it. This in turn is surrounded by another circle which represents the cosmos." (Halford, 1980, p. 11)
