Carlson-Abbey Residence. Houston, Texas.1992. Designer. Responsibilities: Design and construction documents for suburban garden that challenged traditional norms by placing the vegetable garden in the front of the house. The garden is about patience and small victories. It had to be inexpensive and simple enough for the owners to install it themselves.

Morian Residence. Houston, Texas.1992. Designer. Responsibilities: Design and construction drawings for residential garden whose primary focus is a water garden. It is a garden for both singular solitude and social gathering. The garden is formed by a pavilion, fountain and planted runnel which provide a backbone to the space, a necessity given the owner's love of plant experimentation and variety.

Monticello High School. Albemarle County, Virginia. 1995. Consultant to William McDonough + Partners. Responsibilities: site studies, schematic landscape plan, consultant on natural systems.

Easterling Garden. 1997-99. Charlottesville, Virginia. Design of residential garden. Responsibilities: design of garden; installation of paving and planting. Collaboration with John Easterling on design of pavilion that doubles as play structure, John Easterling, primary designer and builder.

Redevelopment Plan for Cap Haitien, Haiti. 1998. Part of multidisciplinary design team sponsored by the Organization for American States. Responsibilities: develop a strategic plan for revitalizing the town through the development of a tourism plan. My specific role (as I defined it) was to develop a park infrastructure that provided the armature for two things: 1) a sewage and storm drainage plan; and 2) a processional sequence for a series of tours through the historic town.

Mayry Residence. Charlottesville, Virginia. 1998. Designer. Responsibilities: Design for terrace and garden for residential garden and yoga training studio.

Bristol Transit Market.Bristol, Tennessee. 2000. Designer. Responsibilities: Design for Farmer’s Market and Plaza Landscape; design development; construction drawings; on-site design implementation.

Bristol Downtown Plan. Bristol, Virginia/Tennessee. 1999-2000. Designer. Responsibilities: Urban design strategy for downtown; conceptual design of network of connections to surrounding area and region; design development of street landscapes; conceptual ideas for redevelopment of Beaver Creek; conceptual design of series of public landscapes within the downtown plan.

Homestead Legislation for West Virginia Post-Mining Sites. 2000. Team Member of team including attorneys, mining engineers, civil engineer, planner, biologist, soils scientist, and landscape architect. Responsibilities: Part of team assembled to write legislation for Homesteading on land previously mined for coal. The team's recommendations included homesteader requirements, municipal infrastructure, natural systems reconstruction,park and open space requirements and configuration, forestry requirements, lot configuration, materials, and plansubmittal requirements.

Wes Davis Greenway Plan. Bristol, Tennessee. 2001. Designer. Responsibilities: Strategic Plan for Wes Davis Greenway, including master plan, planting design, and maintanence.

Cadwalader Park. Trenton, New Jersey. 2001. Consultant to March Associates, Inc. Responsibilities: Reviewer and contributor to Master Planting Plan for restoration of park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr.

Mills Branch Park, Kingwood, Texas.1992. Project Manager/Designer. Responsibilities: Project design, construction drawings, and construction observation for a 2.5 acre neighborhood park.

Copper Lakes. Houston, Texas.1992. Design Team Member. Responsibilities: As part of a single-family residential development, our work includes development of the open space plan, master plan and detail design of the community center park. Our most important task is to reconfigure/redesign a major drainage corridor into an environmentally-positive structure, which necessitates the change of obsolete laws and engineering practices. Work includes construction drawings and construction observation.

Green Meadows. Johnston, Iowa.1992. Landscape Designer/Planning Team Member. Responsibilities: My role is to develop an open space plan for a new community. The proposed solution utilizes principles of landscape ecological principles and is planned as a sustainable landscape.

Kingwood South. Kingwood, Texas.1992. Design Team Member. Responsibilities: Assist in land planning for a new community, including neighborhood form and type development; location of schools, churches, libraries, retail; design of open space network (wetlands protection, trail systems, parks); road layout and lotting.

Univ. of Texas Medical Campus. Galveston, Texas.1991. Design Team Member. Responsibilities: Landscape design for "Campus Mall" including street reconfiguration, existing and future building locations and uses, walks, fountains, and planting design.

Braun Residence. Houston, Texas.1991-92. Project Landscape Architect. Responsibilities: Redesign of residential grounds (1/4 acre lot), including courtyard, which was conceived of as a Floating Plane to unite the what was a discreet space with the larger garden.

Brae Burn Country Club Pool. Newton, Massachusetts.1990. Designer. Responsibilities: Design of pool area, including reconfiguration of pool, new deck, a children's play area, and design of children's "grotto".

Bernon Residence. Wellesley, Massachusetts.1990. Design Team Member. Responsibilities: Design and construction drawings for 30 acre grounds, including grading, planting, walls, steps and terraces. My particular concentrated areas were the terraces and the pool area.

American Schlafhorst. Charlotte, North Carolina. 1986. Design Team Member. Responsibilities: Master Plan for new American headquarters plus sites for speculative development.

Shriners Children's Hospital. Greenville, South Carolina. 1986-87. Project Landscape Architect. Responsibilities: Design and construction drawings for a 10 acre facility, including terraces, entry court and larger site.

Barrington Park. Greenville, South Carolina. 1986-87. Project Landscape Architect. Responsibilities: Design and construction drawings for subdivision, including design for central facility, lots, 1800 linear feet of road, and entry planting. I acted as project manager, coordinating civil, municipal approvals and field management.
