Pax Vobis

This was one of about twenty poems written by DGR during his trip to Paris and Belgium with Holman Hunt in 1849. He later revised this piece and included it in the 1881 Poems under the title of "World's Worth."

"Father Hilary" is an imaginary medieval monk. "Pax Vobis" is a greeting in the Roman Catholic Mass, which translates to "Peace be unto you."
