Filter

A filter restricts the entire network to a specified subset of nodes and links. Such subsets are termed "views," particularly in systems which allow them to be saved and retrieved. Filters permit the reader to limit the scope of navigation to a given area of interest. This is especially important as nodes increase in number and their contents become more heterogeneous.

Compare with web.
