This photograph was taken by a New York City Police Photographer in the early twentieth century, probably between 1915 and 1918. It comes from a book of photographs entitled Evidence compiled by records haphazardly preserved in the New York City's police departments photo collection. No information on the victim or the details surrounding the murder remains. We are left with an unknown life captured now by an uncaptioned photograph; a police record as a memento mori.
