Booksellers and Printers with whom Stansby Worked or Collaborated

As has been demonstrated by Peter Blayney and others, the London printing community engaged in shared printing and publishing to a much greater degree than once suspected. This hand-list contains the 61 booksellers and nine printers that the editors of the STC have shown Stansby to have worked with.

Undoubtedly Stationers collaborated among themselves much more than this list indicates, but the evidence for such sharing has yet to emerge. One of the goals of this project is to encourage the development of evidence such as paper use and type ornaments, and to foster sharing of such evidence among bibliographers, textual critics and book historians, so that we might better understand the patterns of shared printing and publishing in early modern London.

Following the names of the Stationer are the dates of their freedom in parentheses (if known) and the inclusive dates of their entries in the STC. The books under each heading have been broken down by year.
