PlaySpace 2003

Our efforts to transform Temporal Modelling Project designs into a working prototype of the PlaySpace began in January of 2002. Programmer and Flash designer Jim Allman, who attended our Summer 2001 seminar and consulted with us throughout the planning process, took the construction of the prototype in hand. Close, ongoing consultations with the design team contributed to Jim's success in building a tool well suited to the needs of humanities scholars and perfectly in line with our research and specifications. Furthermore, the Temporal Modelling PlaySpace (still in development) serves as a proof-of-concept that visualization tools can have an important and functional place in the early phases of humanities computing content modelling.
