Visiting the Dark
Not more that half a day into this walk, Jacob suddenly awakes from his fascinated subjective viewing, perhaps because he has arrived at a place where he must stand and wait. With barely a beat missed, darkness envelopes him, and the dead appear in the shape of solid letters traveling in winding gyres through the gridded dark. The abstracted shape of the bee-tv is among them, vibrating between hexagonal and pentagonal aspects. Jacob takes these bodily presences as a guide post, and upon waking, continues to travel in the same direction. Or, at least when he awakes from the dark, he is still walking.
