Future Bodies

The cavefloor rolls Jacob to a room with high ceilings and well lit wax walls. Jacob pauses there, his eyes on the roof. Behind the somewhat transparent stone, he can see the bees, at work on the creation of gigantic wax figures in the shape of human women. One or more of these shapes will be his future body. But that wax will have to be earned through accomplishment of the murder he has planned, or that has been planned for him, or that might be a mistake altogether. In any case, as pre-payment, Jacob enters the black and white world of the bees, traveling through a corridor of shapes to a piece of flat comb floating in space. Flying through the comb to a single cell, he finds a single-room apartment, which holds what might be a book with the correct pronunciation of a palindromic message the bees have already delivered to him in pieces. The message tells him that the Garden of Eden Cave is synonymous with Vengeance for the Dead. Jacob does not bother to interpret this message, and returns to his daytime walk in the cave.
