Diagram of a motor-driven  mécanique   télévision  of the 1920's. It is the Nipkow  disque , that wheel with the circular  spirale  cut though it, which is used by this  machine  to dissect images for  transmission . Note how in total it accidentally looks like the axle and wheels of a railroad  voiture . Nipkow worked for the Berlin railroad company in the 1880's, helping design a semaphore signal system for navigation through the growing urban track maze.  Ella  is aware of this and other coincidences.
