子皮止姒曰安之,吾今嫁姊矣,已過時,子皮不復言也,魯
君欲以子皮為相,子皮問姒曰,魯君欲以我為相,為之乎,
姒曰,勿為也,子皮曰,何也,姒曰,夫臨喪而言嫁,一何不習
禮也,後過時而不言,一何不達人事也,子内不習禮,外不
達人事,子不可以為相,子皮曰,姒欲嫁,何不早言,姒曰,婦
人之事,唱而後和,吾豈以欲嫁之故數子乎,子誠不習於
禮,不達於人事,以此相一國,據大衆,何以理之,譬猶掩目
而别黒白也,掩目而别,黒白,猶無患也,不達人事而相國,
非有天咎,必有人禍,子其勿為也,子皮不聽,卒受為相,居
未期年,果誅而死,君子謂公乘姒緣事而知弟之遇禍也,
可謂智矣,待禮而後動,不苟觸情,可謂貞矣,詩云,籜
兮籜兮,風其吹汝,叔兮伯兮,唱予和汝,又曰百爾所思,
