The Piedmont Avenue landscape design reestablishes Beaver
Creek as part of the city. It does not 'reveal' the creek in its entirety.
Rather the design allows the creek to 'peek' out for a small portion and
creates 'windows' into the cavelike landscape underneath the street. The
design also allows a rare bat habitat to coexist with the city. The
design also provides a new 'Parking Garden,' a parking area amid trees
on normal days and a market/music venue during festivals.
