The master plan included single family house lots, a townhouse development,
a community park, retail, and a country club and golf course. The site presented
a some particular challenges, all related to water. A conventional engineered
V-shaped channel needed to be better integrated aesthetically and experientially
with the community. Little Cypress Creeks flood plain bisected the
site. And the numerous stormwater requirements necessitated a creative solution
to integrate what could have been a series of vacuous holes that perforated
the site. The design aggregated the sites water problems
into a linked system of landscapes--all of which crossed major roads in
