Walden Farm. Rappahannock County, Virginia. 2002. Designer.
Responsibilities: Make a working farm into a restorative weekend retreat while maintainging it as a working farm and making it a sustainable, ecologically-healthy landscape.

Green Summit. Kingsport, Tennessee. 2001. Summit Leader.
Responsibilities: Work with civic leaders to identify important issues regarding the city's landscape, present them to interested citizens, and have citizens prioritize them so that the city can act accordingly.

Wes Davis Greenway Plan. Bristol, Tennessee. 2001. Designer.
Responsibilities: Strategic Plan for Wes Davis Greenway, including master plan, planting design, and maintenance.

Chapel Residence. Charlottesville, VA 2001. Designer.

Responsibilities: Design of garden with focus on new brick and bluestone terrace adjacent to house and to bluestone terraces within the garden.

Cadwalader Park. Trenton, New Jersey. 2001. Consultant.
Consultant to March Associates, Inc. Responsibilities: Reviewer and contributor to Master Planting Plan for restoration of park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr.

Bristol Downtown Plan. Bristol, Virginia/Tennessee. 1999-2001. Designer.
Responsibilities: Urban design strategy for downtown; conceptual design of network of connections to surrounding area and region; design development of street landscapes; conceptual ideas for redevelopment of Beaver Creek; conceptual design of series of public landscapes within the downtown plan.

Bristol Transit Market.Bristol, Tennessee. 2000. Designer.

Responsibilities: Design for Farmer’s Market and Plaza Landscape; design development; construction drawings; on-site design implementation.

Homestead Legislation for West Virginia Post-Mining Sites. 2000. Team Member of working group including attorneys, mining engineers, civil engineer, planner, biologist, soils scientist, and landscape architect.
Responsibilities: Part of team assembled to write legislation for Homesteading on land previously mined for coal. The team's recommendations included homesteader requirements, municipal infrastructure, natural systems reconstruction,park and open space requirements and configuration, forestry requirements, lot configuration, materials, and plan submittal requirements.

Easterling Garden. 1999. Charlottesville, Virginia. Designer.

Responsibilities: design of garden; installation of paving and planting. Collaboration with John Easterling on design of pavilion that doubles as play structure, John Easterling, primary designer and builder.

Redevelopment Plan for Cap Haitien, Haiti. 1998. Team Member.

Part of multidisciplinary design team sponsored by the Organization for American States. Responsibilities: develop a strategic plan for revitalizing the town through the development of a tourism plan. My specific role (as I defined it) was to develop a park infrastructure that provided the armature for two things: 1) a sewage and storm drainage plan; and 2) a processional sequence for a series of tours through the historic town.

Responsibilities: Design for terrace and garden for residential garden and yoga training studio.

Monticello High School. Albemarle County, Virginia. 1995. Consultant.
Consultant to William McDonough + Partners. Responsibilities: site studies, schematic landscape design plan, consultant on natural systems.

Carlson-Abbey Residence. Houston, Texas.1992. Designer.
Responsibilities: Design and construction documents for suburban garden that challenged traditional norms by placing the vegetable garden in the front of the house. The garden is about patience and small victories. It had to be inexpensive and simple enough for the owners to install it themselves.

Morian Residence. Houston, Texas.1992. Designer.

Responsibilities: Design and construction drawings for residential garden whose primary focus is a water garden. It is a garden for both singular solitude and social gathering. The garden is formed by a pavilion, fountain and planted runnel which provide a backbone to the space, a necessity given the owner's love of plant experimentation and variety.

Mills Branch Park, Kingwood, Texas.1993. Project Manager/Designer.

Eurosud, Calvisson, France. 1993. Design Team Member.
Responsibilities: Team member in developing speculative office/hotel conference development that preserved the landscape sensibility of this historic and culturally significant garrigue landscape of agricultural fields and former olive groves. Copper Lakes. Houston, Texas.1993. Design Team Member/Project Landscape Architect.
Responsibilities: As part of a single-family residential development, our work includes development of the open space plan, master plan and detail design of the community center park. Our most important task is to reconfigure/redesign a major drainage corridor into an environmentally-positive structure, which necessitates the change of obsolete laws and engineering practices. Houston Country Club Tennis Complex Master Plan. Houston, Texas. 1992. Project Landscape Architect.

Responsibilities: Develop master plan that included recommendations for the pedestrian entry at the parking, configuration of pedestrian pavements adjacent to the tennis pro shop, proposed rest areas and patios, interface with pool fencing, and screening of pool equipment and service area. Accompanying the plan is a schematic design of areas, a phasing plan, and a preliminary cost estimate. Kathy Poole at the SWA Group, Inc. John Cutler, project director.

Responsibilities: Identify and define opportunities for landscape improvements and neighborhood identity along the Mills Branch Drive corridor. The plan considered planting, Kingwood community identification, neighborhood identification, individual development identification, circulation, integration and improvement of drainageway intersections.

Responsibilities: Master Plan for medical complex that included a four level hospital, an intensive care unit, a four level bed tower, three parking garages, a physicians office, a daycare center, a fitness center, and a specialty hospital. With Watkins Carter Hamilton, Architects.

United Medical Center. Moline, Illinois.1991-92. Design Team Member.

Brae Burn Country Club Pool. Newton, Massachusetts.1990. Designer.

Bernon Residence. Wellesley, Massachusetts.1990. Design Team Member.

Duke Power Central Maintenance Facility. Charlotte, North Carolina. 1986. Project Landscape Architect.
