Collage Mappings Conveying
Water
conveys quantified parts of the landscape--chemicals, minerals, and organics
of the non-people and people sorts. These conveyances are organized through
a series of walks.
The vials hold water and sediment samples and various small remnants from
the natural world. Sampling points are measured via strip tests for pH,
copper, zinc, lead, and nitrate. Along
the walks are measures of the vertical distance from the stream to the person,
that is, how many feet above the water you are as you walk along the creek. |
