Studio Resources The studio is one of the outgrowths of a three-year research project by the instructor. Consequently, students will have access to a sizeable collection of information. And because the project is ongoing, they will have access to vast data that has not yet been synthesized into meaningful information. Therefore, the studio presents a unique opportunity for students to do research through desig--and do so in a number of ways of their choosing. The studio also has at its disposal 980+ historical images, a bevy of maps, and (hopefully) a digital database on the history of the Fens and the Back Bay/Fenway area. The studio will use a three dimensional digital model of the Fens that includes topography, walks, stairs, gatehouses, memorials, roads, and mass models of buildings on the Fens' periphery. This three dimensional data also includes a detailed model of the gatehouse, showing its above and below ground components. The studio will use these digital resources in whatever ways they are useful--digitally or in printed form. There is no requirement that students work digitally.
