On the occasion of a ladies auxilliary
luncheon, it has been said,
Eudora Welty was invited to read one of her stories. But between the
lunch itself, the minutes of the last luncheon, and whatever else, they
were running short on time. So the woman presiding turned to the author
and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Eudora. We aren't going to have time for you
to read your story. Why don't you just tell it to us in your own
words? |
