Now, the dead letters have decided- Time for the Title. At the top of the frame, we see "WAX", each letter on its own path. Various alternate spellings are intimated (what is the real difference between "XAW" and "WAX"?)
--WAX or the discovery of television among the bees--
Everything starts with the title sequence, filled with many mysterious images which in establish a few of the many portals and places that Jacob Maker, partial hero of this long story, will travel through during the clicking moments that follow. After a broken montage of word-images, the title --WAX or the discovery of television among the bees-- appears in full, followed by a blackness that soon after is filled by a picture of the Alamogordo Abstract and Title Company. The putative narrator the film, that very Jacob, then appears eyes-only, staring out towards the desert and what lies beyond, or within, or above, etc. The combination of which possibilities again leads us to a darkness which allows the story to finally begin.
