	Jacob might have become a jet. or at least a jet is leaving the ground. Flight J, departing Alamogordo yesterday, returning the day before yesterday, reservations taken years ago, and now you can board, up the gangplank stapled to the wing, across the wing to climb through the cockpit window, then find your way to the back of the plane, where there are serving drinks and passing out camera-guns loaded with X-ray film for your landscape-snapping pleasure (for those who forgot to bring their own).

From Bed to Parking Lot:

Presumably waking the next morning, Jacob is careful not to tell Melissa of his special worries about his bees and the dead; though it is not at all sure that Melissa hasn't already noticed. The two drive to work together. After arriving, Jacob tarries outside the front door, letting Melissa go in by herself. Wandering near the parking lot, he seems to leave his body for a floating point of view as a weapon in a cartoon land.
