Appendix E: Database of Photographs

This page accesses a database of photographs taken during field visits to Pompeii during the summers of 1997 and 1998. More than 600 photographs were taken and transferred to photo CD. The images are coming on line incrementally, and the database retrieves images that are online, and reports information about those off line. In addition to images of the Macellum, the database also includes other Forum buildings, and some general images of Pompeii.

A query to the database returns a page of thumbnail images. Each thumbnail is accompanied by three links:

• *: A link to an image with a maximum dimension of 512 pixels.
• **: A link to an image with a maximum dimension of 1536 pixels.
• edit: A link to a page for editing image information (a password is required to submit changes).
