Evaluation Criteria for Hypertext Software

In evaluating hyperbook authoring systems, it is important to establish a list of criteria. For the purposes of this study, we have done so under nine headings. Even if your criteria differ, you should be able to use our conclusions to assist in your selection process. Our primary assumption is that the author/developer wishes to create a stand-alone work which can be distributed in much the same way as a paper book, journal, or magazine.
