	The front porch of the beehive, as the bees rush in and out of their home. They've been to Planet X. In fact they have relatives there. Sometimes the relatives come to visit. Sometimes the bees go to visit them instead. In any case, there are guest beds here in the hive, and on that planet, in case Jacob wants to visit.

His Memory Returns:

At Frisch, Jacob is a programmer writing code for gunsite displays in the simulators. The next day, twiddling code, Jacob feels an explosion in his brain, and remembers a previous experience of disapearance at the hives, which seemed to have occured after hearing voices within the comb. He is so disturbed by the memory that he leaves work, heading home to spend the afternoon watching tv. Inevitably, though, Jacob ends up at his hives.
