A geographic information system (GIS) allows quantitative manipulation of data according to themed attributes. In this mapping streams and swales, roads, and parking were identified and attributed various permeability representations. Elements were also expanded for visual clarity. The resultant mapping allows one to view the landscape not as a series of elements but as a range of wetness conditions.
