In
this area along the Fens, the act of movement becomes the act of making,
like the making of art, something that at this point is internal in Boston.
These spaces becomes part of a physically enlivened spine. Beyond the physical
connections established, it facilitates the integration of city and park,
and reinforces the Fens as a necessary part of the city. Art becomes truly
accessible and an active part of the public sphere and everyday movement
and helps to enforce interaction for a broad range of users.
Through the reconstruction of an historic
canal that revealed Stony Brook, the Fens reaches out to Huntington Avenue
and makes a more direct connection with the MFA.
