The
studio's task is to enhance the current discussions with exploratory
ideas and imagable, physical proposals. In particular the studio's
task is to consider the park within the larger critical and physical
contexts. The studio will focus on an existing, key element of municipal
infrastructure--a gatehouse designed by H. H. Richardson--and its
immediate landscape. This gatehouse is no longer used for stormwater/sewage
control and is under consideration for reinhabitation by some other
use. Students will specifically address the gatehouse in their proposals
for the larger landscape.
