Students
will develop their own programs and uses for the gatehouse and the
Fens. The studio will consider the reintroduction of historic programs
like horseback riding, duck houses, and beaches, proposed but unexecuted
programs like bathhouses and boathouses, contemporary ideas for programs
like interpretive centers and heritage walks, central nodes for regional
trail networks, and programs that have not yet been imagined.
Though we will look at a single gatehouse and a relatively small portion
of a park, the emphasis
will be on the relationship between the park and the city.
In essence, urban design will remain our most important goal. |
