All
of the designers considered materials, relationship to the body, the detail's
potential within the larger city, and construction methods. And given the
range of project types and intentions, it is challenging to group them according
to these or any other characteristic. The most logical way of categorizing
them within an overview was by scale. Since the designers' schemes varied widely, the appropriate scale for the detail exploration varied accordingly. Some chose a detail that someone could hold or could rest her body on. Others chose a singular component that someone could, say, walk around or sit within. And others chose smaller components of a larger scheme that were a detail, only a large one that might be termed a landscape. Body Scale Details Room Scale Details Landscape Scale Details |
