To implementÛand implement quicklyÛprevious investigations. To gain confidence in your ideas and designs early in the semester.

To get ideas into physical medium so that the ideas can be thoroughly investigated.

To gather programmatic information necessary to complete individual proposals.

To allow intuitive responses to flourish before they become too empirically-bound while simultaneously allowing careful investigation, data, and precedents to become part of the making before becoming too enamored with an idea that may be too personally indulgent.
