After visiting Boston, the fantastic city impressed me. And the fens is
a very dramatic site within this industry city. So my program about this
park design is education. I hope people can better understand the city and
history by using this park. After the field trip, by analyzing the photograph,
I found water and people are the elements which connect each systems and
layers. So the strategy is people tracing the water path to experience how
the city works. The park starts from the "T" in the city, and traces the
sewage line entering the gatehouse. It will be reused to the information
center for the park. Then people go down the gatehouse, touch the water
and go into the tunnel crossing the river, at the end reach the center.
It is an outdoor place and observe tower for people gathering for education
purpose. The main purpose of this design is by using people's sensibility
(vision; touching; light, temperature change; body movement) to educate
people, to let people understand the infrastructure and history of the city.
