The weirs, necessary for dredging the Fens, will be left after the dredging is complete and refurbished (sometimes minimally) to remain as permanent reminders of the engineering efforts.

This design will continue the legacy of the Olmsted's design of the Fens as a pilot project in stormwater and sewage enginering that created a particular--and distinct--aesthetic.
