Generating Program

You have mapped. You have read. You have walked and walked and walked. You have felt, smelled, heard and seen the Fens and the city. You have listened to the intentions of others. You have developed an initial strategy for the Īgatehouse site.Ģ Now it is time to test your ideasŪto make them physical and decipher whether they will fulfill your desires for them.

Your assignment is to gather the dreams that are swirling in your head and make them clearly visible and understood to you in all your modes of judgment. Then you must make your dreams available to others.

Your schematic designs should include uses with all of their necessary support components (program). Your schematic design should define a (flexible) boundary for your own individual site as you have defined it. Your schematic design should convey hints at the developing aesthetic. In other words, you will have not developed details, but your work should convey ideas about materials and construction.

You will have to work quickly and intently. I am confident that you will be excited at what you have absorbed and the synthesis that will emerge. I expect you to work in both plan and section, moving back and forth between the two. Another medium (like axonometric or model) is welcomed as long as it encompasses more that two dimensions.
