Three designers pursued physical evidence of social themes. Dana
Hogstedt sought " images of the homeless to document the spaces
to which they were relegated as a result of their not being "accepted" park
users and members of the civic mainstream." Leigh
Fitts sought a broader view of how people found shelter in the landscape.
And Tracey Miller, keenly interested
in the history of the social context of the Fens at its construction, "wondered
away from the park in search for remnants of the industrial history."
